Meadow Lake Airport
East of Colorado Springs in Falcon

Meadow Lake Airport

Altitude 5800'

Located East of Colorado Springs about 20 minutes.  Head East on Platte Avenue.  Platte becomes Hwy 24.  Proceed to Judge Orr road and turn right at the airport sign.  When you get to the big red barn turn right again.  This road takes you directly to the ultralight area.  You will cross over a taxi way onto the dirt runway.  Keep this runway CLEAR.  Park away from it on the East side of it.  Also try to stay to the East side of this runway when in the air.  This runway is very busy on Saturday mornings, so keep a sharp eye out and if you decide to leave the area, exit  to the South.  From there it is wide open East or West in front of the sub divisions.

Wellington, Colorado map

Altitude 5600'
Jim and Jack Wojdyla have very kindly offered to let club members launch from their property about 4.5 miles East of Marksheffel Rd on the North side of Hwy 94 just West of the Motocross race area.  Once in the air, it's only about half a mile North to the Jimmy Camp Creek Canyon.  This area is owned by the City of Colorado Springs and is being leased to a big ranch.  It's destined to be a city park and recreational area some day.

Springs East Airport
(East of Colorado Springs)

Altitude 6400'
A dirt road takes off up a long shallow valley here before Ellicott and after the Peyton Highway intersection.  Lots of room both North and South.  Keep away from cattle.

Rancho Colorado Ridge Site
(South Side of Colorado Springs on I-25 just South of PPIR Raceway)

Altitude 5000'
The road, El Huerta , takes you up a long ridge past the land fill.  Launch anywhere North of the road on top of the ridge.  A large municipal land fill will be directly South of you.  You can cross the highway East (stay high) to Fountain Creek or explore North to PPIR and beyond.
